2008 November > 3rd Annual Great Wheelchair Challenge

In an effort to increase public awareness about the daily issues faced by individuals living with disabilities in our community, the Independent Living Resource Centre recently held its 3rd Annual Great Wheelchair Challenge at Tom Davies Square. After a very successful 2007 campaign, the organizations goal is to continually improve its fundraising efforts so that individuals living with disabilities can gain better accessibility throughout the community. As part of the challenge, members from the community were asked to spend part of their day in a wheelchair, so that they could see first-hand many of the concerns that these people (physically challenged) have in their daily routine.
